Renaud earned a B.Mus. in piano performance at University of Montreal, studying with Jean Saulnier and Jeanne Amièle. His curious nature, instigated by his family’s scientific background, has since then lead him to study cognitive neuroscience at University of Montreal, where he would associate himself with Dr. Isabelle Peretz as research assistant.
His interests in current research are diverse, encompassing the understanding and treatment of neurological and psychiatric disorders, music cognition, and musicology. Precisely, his research activities currently focus on understanding the exceptional brain of prodigies, an interest partly fueled by his occupation as a piano teacher at École de Musique Vincent-d’Indy.
